Burlap has a unique rustic and natural look, allowing it to become an ideal material for both decorative and homemade crafts. With having a creative mind and the correct supplies, ideas are endless in creating projects with burlap. Below are just a few ideas, follow the instructions and see how your project turns out.

Window Curtains
The fabulous thing about burlap bags is that coordinates with several different styles of decor: bohemian & island, rustic & wood cabin, trendy,earthy, eco-friendly and shabby chic! There are various styles of burlap, so you will need to beg, borrow or purchase the types that match with your particular taste. The purchase of a no-sew tape product will help you in the ease of this two panel curtain project.

Once, you have decided on the window you are going to dress and measured the length of it, you can lay out your burlap pieces. You may need to use the iron and no-sew tape to make long enough panels for your window. After you have made your panels just the right size, fold about one inch over at the top of each panel and use the iron on tape to form your curtain rod pockets. Affix the clip on curtain rings to the panels and slip them onto the curtain rod. Hang your curtain rod per the directions.

Finally, tweak your panels to your particular taste. If you desire a fringe along the bottom, then just pull out as many fibers length wise to make your fringe as small or large as you want. You may also want to use clothespins on the back to train your panels to fold like proper curtains. Tie backs will add a professional touch. Consider tie back hard ware that matches your curtain rod, tassels or other materials that you prefer.

Stuff each pillow and use no-sew tape or needle and thread to stitch up the cut sides. Lastly, affix decorative embellishments such as buttons to add fabulous detail to your new burlap throw pillows!

Burlap Hanging Board
A quick and easy way to magnify the look of a room is by creating a custom burlap board allowing you to display photos, notes, quick reminders or memorabilia. You can either use the size of the board or create a customized size by cutting it. Once you have chosen the correct size, lay a piece of burlap over the foam board and allow four inches to overhang each of the sides. Use a spray adhesive to attach the burlap material to the board and allow to dry. Once dried, pull the edges of the burlap around the back and secure by using staples. Find the perfect location and hang on the wall. Personalize your board with photos or other items and affix by using push pins.

Burlap Mason Jar Lights
With Autumn and Halloween right around the corner, light up your walkway or decorate your backyard for a party by creating mason jar candle holders.

Get yourself a piece of burlap that is wide enough and long enough as the jar is tall. Place the mason jar in the middle of the burlap fabric and wrap it around. Tie it in place from the top by using colorful ribbons or sisal twine. Once tied and stable, you can either place an real or battery-powered candle or tea light inside.

To make a more creative candle holder, cut out shapes in the burlap before you wrap the mason jar. Cutting out objects such as leaves and Halloween items can make your decoration even more festive.
